He was born on 26 April 1892 in Paris and died on 9 June 1969 in Uherské Hradiště. In 1910 he began studying at the Prague Academy under prof. Bukovac, later V. Hynaise. After his studies, he organized several exhibitions and then went to Paris for a scholarship, which he received after graduation, where he studied in the studio of František Kupka. He tended to landscaping, impressed by the work of painters from the Barbizon School. After returning from Paris, he settled for a time in the Highlands, then in Wallachia, from 1930 he worked permanently in Uherské Hradiště. He painted and drew in his place of work and in surrounding villages, many of his drawings are forgotten in period proceedings, magazines, postcards. (Chagall Art Center)
