He was born on 14 April 1856 in Jičín and died on 17 December 1924 in Prague. He was the son of Emanuel Jaroš, a decoration painter. He was originally a painter of rooms. From 1879 to 1883 he was a pupil of a drawing school, from 1886 to 1891 he was a private pupil of Jan Subič and Julius Mařák. From 1886 to 1887 he worked with Professor Subic on the decoration of the Industrial Museum in Kaiserslautern in Palatinate. He painted the landscape of Posázaví, Šumava, Moravia, Slovakia. He is known for his gouach landscapes, excellent airiness and moodiness. He restored old frescoes, for example at Strahov, in Ledebour Palace. (Toman's Dictionary)
